JM Dragon - Born in England and now a New Zealand citizen, living in the beautiful Canterbury countryside, JM Dragon loves to garden, travel and has a love of animals. Her animals, many of them strays, even the odd chicken, have proved a new focus in her life. Sharing her life with her family, two cats, two alpacas and over forty bantam chickens in differing breeds; she?s found a totally different focus in her life than when she lived in England. Her writing is a long cherished release for the characters that invade her mind on many an occasion. Always having written stories from a child, she found the internet a place she could share her creative world with other readers. Having stumbled across venues on the net for her writing, she found new subjects to explore. She currently loves the creative, readership and friendship genre she has comfortably taken residence in for the last twelve years. A keen reader of sci-fi, crime/mystery, classic and romance of course. JM Dragon is here to stay and loves to experiment with story lines-who knows what she will tease us with next.

Act I The fable of Barrett began in the suburbs of Chicago where she and her younger brother filled their summers with fanciful playacting and story telling. (Not one single electronic game in sight.) Fast forward to high school and college. This was where English, theater, and art studies formed a foundation. After an adventurous year living in Hollywood, scrounging a living collecting recyclables, her theatrical career path took a sharp detour when a wise teacher suggested including a day job to support the dream.
Act II
Back to the Midwest. A brief stint as a nurse?s aide ignited a new passion-- for medicine. In thirty-five years as a registered nurse, she amassed a treasure trove of information about bureaucracy, hospitals, human nature, trauma, and the indomitable human spirit. She enjoyed twenty years in Wisconsin, where she worked in the local ER, a surgical practice, and created a successful allergy/environmental practice that lasted for fifteen years. Some of that time was devoted to her atrophied right brain by studying and making jewelry, assemblage, and photographing everything. Many of the photographs came from travels in the US, Scotland, Ireland, France, the former USSR, Mexico, and Belize.
Act III
Now retired in the high desert of New Mexico, Barrett re-created herself once again, as a writer. Seizing this new opportunity with characteristic zeal?she hammered out first drafts for ten manuscripts in four years. The challenge of the storytelling and the craft has reawakened childhood imagination and now the sky?s the limit. Barrett has recently signed with Affinity E-Book Press NZ Limited to publish her first Novel ?Damaged in Service??the first in a series--to be released in Summer 2011.

Erin O'Reilly - First challenged by a friend to write a story, Erin has since written numermous online and publish works. Her story Deception, was a GCLS Finalist in 2008. That book also garnered the Sapphic Readers Award in 2009. Story creation involving strong characters always seems to dictate the story and invade her mind at all hours. It always amazes her when the characters she is developing suddenly take on a life of their own and lead the story down a completely different path. She thinks that, when all is done, the characters make an impact on the storyline the story is better for it her. | ?
Born and bred in Windhoek, Namibia, Stein has considerable experience in the media field and has worked as a journalist, TV producer, and PR consultant before starting her own small media production company. Her hobbies include writing, reading, cooking, travelling, photography, and scouting the airwaves for new music and watching soccer.
The thirty five year old Stein started writing at the age of thirteen after feeling cheated by the ending of a novel she was reading. She took the novel and rewrote it from the ending back to the front, adding 200 more pages to it. Since then she's only written in her native language, Afrikaans, a derivation of the Dutch language. Throughout her high school career, she 'lended' out her work to fellow boarding school students at a fee and made a killing writing love stories for couples on Valentine's Day. Not a native English speaker she decided to experiment in 2007 by writing a few short stories in English, which since has been kept password-protected on her hard drive never to see the light of day. By pure accident, she came across platforms on the internet to publish her work and was encouraged by a friend to try and post some of her stories. Stein still resides in Windhoek. |
